– I lower my head. I am impressed. Our museum was established in 2003, almost 20 years ago, but we don’t have such achievements. Great respect for what is happening in Radzyń – Magdalena Nierzwicka, director of the Museum of Travelers in Toruń, said after seeing the film. – It’s amazing that such a small town has done so much to promote the passion for travel. It turns out that even though the world is changing, the idea of direct contact is important: despite many other opportunities to explore the world, meeting travelers live and hearing their emotional stories is very popular.
The Director of the Museum pointed out that the exhibition was organized at the request of Elżbieta Dzikowska and caused the postponement of the exhibition previously scheduled for June 2023. Robert Mazurek thanked Magdalena Nierzwicka and Elżbieta Dzikowska (who did not unable to attend the opening for health reasons) for the opportunity to present the exhibition at Radzyń in Toruń. He expressed his thanks to the author of the cartoons, Przemysław Krupski, mainly to the people who inspired him and joined the organization of “Encounters”, including Małgorzata’s wife, who interested him in travelogues, and his son Jakub – the author of Idée Place des Voyageurs. Robert Mazurek and Adam Adamski presented the Director of the Museum of Explorers Tony Halik Memorial Medal of the “Radzyński Meetings with Travelers” with a certificate and books containing interviews of Robert Mazurek with the guests of the “Meetings”. The vernissage ended with a sweet treat, dominated by carrots with mountain ash and wild rose jams – all made by Mirosława and Mirosław Piasko. The exhibition will be on display at the Toruń Museum until November 27.
